In Alegrete, a rural village of Alto Alentejo Region, at the very heart of São Mamede Moutain in Besteiros, there is a vineyard 500 meters above the sea level in rocky soil. The wine produced is called “Folha do Meio”, that means a slice of ground where the vyneard is planted. The harvest is manual acording modern standards. This wine is ruby colour, with a red fruit aroma and vanila, together with spices, very well balanced, fresh and smooth. The varieties are Trincadeira, Alicante buschet and Aragonez. A very tasty wine.
